As Bustling Silence


Nuts, screws, and keys have been left behind. Were they, are they and will they be indexes of her later works? Only Rita Beauperthuy will be able to respond. However, in some canvases a key may appear with vestiges of the pass, nostalgias, memories of what once was, but marks of the present, of today. In the same way, connotations (male, female, secrets, mysteries), main characters of that time, appear as chronicles and urban stories, to subdue each image. This way time subordination passes, with all its complexities, with dependence and independence of all her works, connected to the present, they are a consequence of a past and pursue a future emerging in the city, that noisy city, a complex population and in each and every home, hidden by the topography of the metropolis and its inhabitants. Blurred houses and faceless characters are, nevertheless, sensitive, human, they have hearts and emotions. Conscience  and subconscious are reflected in Rita's works.

Magically, she introduces the key, she opens up and shows the daily life of the urban inhabitants. Time and space, in a diversity of tones tell us what happens in the city, with bustling silences, that coming and going, based on a rescued yellow that illuminates the feeling of the town. Silent, colorful chronicles, they play with a static dynamism that strengthens that coming and going in her works.. Urban forests, the routine of the city, the personal and family secrets, those different lives, the happiness and sadness, their naked hearts, realities, we see   lonely people, people with other people, people hiding in the their home refugees, social feelings on one hand, but also on the other hand, this people is ready to proudly face that day by day, willing to give the best of themselves everytime.

The course of time is the mistery that captured the artist. That is the reason why she has taken it as one of her means, an element that is articulated in these works with the morphology and tones of the walls (the constructions, the houses, the buildings), the urban walkers, the interior and exterior perspectives of the maker of the paintings and of the watcher. The conception, fruition, and projection of daily and real situations are reflections of those excited strokes. Rita builds a time expressed in compositions elaborated by means of the   loneliness-company dichotomy. Her time takes us to Rita's past, what she created, Rita's present, what she is making, and Rita's future, what she will do. So, here is her work: spirituality and aesthetics, an intimacy that reflects the existential commitment of the human being, the woman, the artist.
